Obama and Cameron plan to change the role of mission in Afghanistan
Leaders of the United States and the United Kingdom detailed, on Wednesday, plans to change the role of mission in Afghanistan to a profile more oriented to the support and advice. The idea is that NATO troops Treaty Organization (North Atlantic) might give support to Afghan security forces in 2013, and the security of the country continue to Afghan hands in 2014.

In a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, said the mission in Afghanistan is in the final stages. "We will not give up the mission because Afghanistan must never again be a haven for Al Qaeda to launch attacks against us. (...) We are now in the final stages of our military mission. "

Obama gave support for the change of mission profile, but said the plan to gradually move the security forces and the country remains to Afghan hands. The president once again emphasize that there is no "immediate changes" in the plan already mapped out to bring western forces back home.
U.S. and UK are the countries with the international coalition soldiers in Afghanistan, reaching the 11th year of war. U.S., UK and NATO forces have agreed to keep the troops in the country until 2014, when Afghan President Hamid Karzai, out of office.
